Taljinder Shergill

With over ten years of experience across the private and public sector, Taljinder Shergill is the Program Coordinator for Aegis Council. In her role, she supports program development and project management, and anchors the external relations of the organization. Before her current role, she worked as the Program Officer for the Middle East Nonviolence and Democracy in Jerusalem.

She combines motivation and brilliant understanding of world affairs to investigate inequalities, trends in international development, human rights, and conflict analysis. Taljinder holds a master’s degree in International Relations from the University of Leeds in the United Kingdom with specialization in human rights, the rise of China and Middle East Politics.

Taljinder also holds an undergraduate degree in International Development Studies from York University, Canada.  She is a certified English teacher with the Certificate in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (CELTA Cambridge) from the University of Cambridge.

Summary

Jahssme Guillaume is a research assistant at Aegis Council. She supports literature reviews related to the organization’s priority areas as well as other research assistant duties to support a variety of ongoing projects. Her passions lie in promoting activism, leading program operations, and creating networks with grassroot organizations through volunteering and working at a wide range of agencies.

She is currently building on her skills and experience in mentorship and advocacy in conservation and policy development. She is a graduate of University of Toronto with Bachelor of Science in Cellular Microbiology, Immunology and Disease and double minors in International Development and Psychology with a growing interest in anthropology.

Precious Nwosu is a research assistant at Aegis council. Her passions lie in advocating for gender equality and working with organizations to address policies and issues that negatively impact women’s rights. In addition, she also has an interest in analyzing the policies and programs which can be implemented to promote growth and development on the African continent.

She is currently working towards gaining skills and experience in conducting research and analyzing public policies. Precious holds an undergraduate degree from York University, Toronto with a major in International Development Studies and minor in African Studies.
